Getir Launches New Partnership With August And Reaffirms Dedication To Health, Sustainability, And Small Business

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK (August 23, 2022) – Rapid delivery service, Getir, today announced a new partnership with August, a sustainable period product start-up, to provide impactful period care products to all. August creates plastic-free, biodegradable products and their day pads and regular tampons will now be available on the Getir app and in select stores. The announcement coincides with a nation-wide tampon shortage across the US and shows how delivery apps can provide more menstrual product options. Getir’s dedication to sustainability and healthcare access for all is in line with August’s related mission to democratize access to period care and to provide a free, medically verified heath A&A database called Ask August.

“We are so proud to partner with an environmentally conscious and ethically sourced company like August,” said Darienne Page, Head of Public Engagement for Getir. “Sustainability remains a key pillar of our business model so collaborating with August was an obvious choice. This new partnership is another example of how Getir is providing more options to consumers and supporting small businesses along the way.”

While most period products take 5-8 centuries to decompose, August products biodegrade within a year. All products are hypoallergenic, fragrance-free, chemical-free, ethically sourced, and sustainable. For every purchase, August will donate products to young menstruators in need through their nonprofit partner No More Secrets. So far, they have donated 90,000+ pads with an estimate of 4000+ menstruators served. The company also releases a quarterly sustainability and impact report to be transparent about their current initiatives, nonprofit partners, etc.

With a real-time inventory of over 1,500 everyday products in stock, Getir sources popular brands and delivers in minutes. August is one of the many small, locally owned businesses represented in Getir’s product inventory.
